Cyndi Lauper has her hands full these days. The 71-year-old singer from Ozone Park will be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame this year, she is writing the music and lyrics for the upcoming musical "Working Girl" (based on the 1988 film starring Melanie Griffith) and she’s launching the last leg of her farewell tour, which comes to Northwell at Jones Beach Theater on July 19.
"It’s all happening at once," Lauper says. "The tour will be a little different from when I played Madison Square Garden [last October]. ... My family is around Jones Beach and I used to go there when I was little."
Lauper’s upcoming gig is one of several shows not to miss this summer. Here’s a list of 50 concerts to catch running from late May to early September.
